What identification documents should I take with me?
All passengers, including children and babies, must have a photography identification document:
Within the European Union (EU): Citizen Card (c.c.) valid.
Outside the European Union: 6 -month passport from the arrival date.
For the United States of America: It is mandatory to have optical reading passports. If you do not have this passport, you may see your shipment denied.
Personal banknotes, military or judicial identifications, are not valid to cross the Portuguese borders.
All documents must be within the validity limits indicated.
Certain countries require the passport to have at least 6 months of validity.

I will travel with minors. What documents are needed for the trip?
Traveling by plane in Portugal: all minors, who travel in Portugal, by plane, should have valid citizen card. The plane ticket must have a name equal to that of C.C. for complete identification of the minor by the Portuguese air authorities.
Traveling abroad: all minors traveling abroad, regardless of who accompanies them, should be provided with C.C., when they move into the EU space. Outside this, for any other country, they must be armed with the passport and seen if necessary.

If the minor is a foreign citizen what documents will be needed to travel?
Foreign citizens must have the necessary documentation (passport, visa, residence authorization, etc.) to travel or transit inside the EU. For trips totally or partially outside the EU, visas or other special documentation may be required. Please consult the embassy or consulate of the destination country of your trip.

If my child is traveling without the accompaniment of parents, what documents are needed?
The entry into force of DL. 83/2000, of May 11, on January 1, 2001, there was a new entry and exit regime of minors from the national territory. The minors, children of married parents, must be possessed of departure authorization, issued and signed by their parents - with recognized signatures, if they leave alone or accompanied by third parties.

I will travel alone with my minor son, do I need some authorization?
In the event that the minor travel only accompanied by one of the parents, it is always necessary to present the “authorization to exit from national territory” signed by the other parent and duly recognized by a notary, solicitor or lawyer. Together, you should attach a photocopy of the citizen card (s).
